Dear Imago Members and Supporters!

It’s time to summarize Q1’25 so hereby I present you with Imago Bulletin #004. This time, the update will be slightly more concise – not because there is less to say, but because we are fully immersed in several ambitious projects that remain just a few milestones away from completion. Once delivered, however, they promise to address some of the most commonly reported afflictions troubling our community, offering meaningful and lasting improvements to trans lives.

Let me begin – somewhat unconventionally – by speaking first about the challenges we’ve faced and what has come from them.

Struggles – and their outcomes

  • In February and March, the number of various requests – from both new and current patients – increased sharply. This sudden spike strained our infrastructure and led to unacceptable delays in response times. This situation caused distress, understandably, and frustration across our team. Rather than resorting to makeshift solutions, we took a longer view: we brought forward our planned systems overhaul. The first fruits of this effort are already visible – particularly in how we process blood test results and manage treatment reviews. More improvements are on the way.

  • Nearly a year ago, I made the decision to entrust prescription deliveries to a logistics partner. I conducted research, evaluated pricing, and weighed the options. Today, I must acknowledge that I made the wrong call. The “tracking” system we were offered on very convenient pricing turned out to be, like with most things “too good to be true”, defective and disappointing, with many parcels going off the radar for way too long time, causing anxiety in patients sometimes desperate to get their hormones. While some patients received their medication in just four days, others waited up to twenty – an intolerable level of unpredictability, especially for something as vital as hormone therapy. Delivery companies are not exactly famous for their reliability or customer-centric approaches. Nevertheless, I made the decision to switch logistics partners. I prioritized keeping deliverance of prescriptions free which made the task which made it far more difficult and severely limited our options. Still, I believe we’ve made the right move, considering the dedication and diligence of our operations team. The goal and expectation is to reduce average delivery time by 50%! I’m hopeful… but please mind that I cannot vouch for the third party. We will monitor closely and act swiftly when needed. If you experience issues, don’t hesitate to let us know.

Triumphs

  • Imago still offers the fastest access to trans healthcare in Europe (approx. 1 week to see the doctor), with no prescriptions left rejected.

  • First patients are already in the process with our strategic partner, one step from receiving their life-changing gender-affirming surgeries. We are happy to see that everything is going smoothly.

  • I am proud to say, our team is growing fast! But not only that, a number of amazing passionate trans people who share Imago’s vision join to be the part of the change.

Coming soon

  • Gender-affirming surgeries were by undoubtedly the service most of you requested. But as a not very distant second came peer support groups. It is our current priority. Soon, we will reach out to you to hear you out and identify your needs more precisely so that we can design an environment that serves you to the fullest. It is our ambition (but not a promise) to introduce a test version in Q2’25!

  • We’ve been reacting to discriminatory incidents our patients experienced from GPs and pharmacists from day one! But now, we are finally building a dedicated department to handle such cases, help with litigations and holding those bullies and bigots who forgot that law and ethics exist accountable. It is a constant work in progress, not a binary one but gradual, offering slightly better protection for you with every consecutive month.

Imago recruits – join our team and make the world a better place!

We are now seeking extraordinary people to join us in transforming the landscape of trans healthcare and visibility. This isn’t just recruitment – it’s an invitation to be part of something powerful, necessary, and deeply meaningful.

We are especially looking for:

  • Digital Visionaries

    – to help us design and launch our own social platform, a sanctuary made for and by trans people.

  • Gamification Architects

    – who understand how systems, storytelling, and incentives can make community-building not just effective but delightful.

  • Social Media Strategists

    – who speak the language of engagement, justice, and joy. If you can stir hearts with a reel or make dignity go viral, we need you.

  • Press & Media Officers

    – with the eloquence to advocate, the courage to respond, and the vision to reshape public narratives.

If any of this speaks to you, send us a message. Whether you’re a seasoned professional or a passionate learner, what matters most is your moral code, work ethics, and a mind lit by undying curiosity.

There will be more important announcements coming this quarter, so stay tuned!

As spring bursts into bloom all around us radiant, unapologetic, and unstoppable I wish each of you that same wild joy of becoming, of blossoming into who you truly are, with pride, with light, and with love. 💙🤍🩷
